Or alternatively

I get on great with mine, OK now admittedly they were not a huge revelation when I tried them but I do like them.

My boots are a reasonable fit and the calf area of my suit was a bit baggy (not massively though).

I used to find that if I went head down then the air migrated into my calf area or even heaven forbid if I actually managed to trim out (extremely rare and always by accident ) it slowly worked its way into the calf area. Not a huge problem, I just used to go a bit upright and drop my legs (standard diving for me )

However since I started using gators I find going head down is not a problem and I don't have an excess of air in the lower legs, as the boots are a reasonable fit any air in the boots is minimal anyway.

Personally I like them, not a massive revalation for me and I could manage without them but I do find it more comfortable with them.

Obviously I could have opted for having the suit altered but then I would struggle to get my huge feet through the calf area. (and you know what they say about men with big feet. :D)
