DIR Explorers - View Single Post - Which scubapro regs for single tank DIR setup? also DIY annuals?

I'm ready to upgrade over my old US divers micra+ adjustables w/ Cousteau 1st stage. My DIR-F instructor convinced me that scuba pro is the way to go. I'm thinking a pair of G-250's with a nice DIN- 1st stage. Or should I go R190's? I like to be able to turn down the backup so it doesn't free-flow, but I learned the adjustable 250 is another "failure point" and also to never de-tune a reg, let it breathe wide open.

Any cheap places to get new ones? I'm also going to check ebay for a used setup- I'll get it professionally rebuilt once, but then I want to get the books and tools to do it myself- I'm very much a DIY type and I'd like to save $100 a year in services.
