| Erm, I've got a mate who offered to give me (for nothing) his broken bulb flooded knackered battery torch. A Halcyon 18W. He'd had it sent back about 3 times, every time a different failure, and got to the point where it wasn't worth leaving in the bag as a backup.
I prefer to have gear I can hammer nails in with and then treat it reasonably, instead of having to wrap my gear in cotton wool. You can't hammer nails in with a Salvo, but if you did you'd be in better shape than the Halcyon I'd wager.
The only thing which has kept my faith in H torches has been my Pro 3. I've seen all sorts of other models with problem after problem. And my gear gets more abuse than almost any of the people I've seen with problems.
