Think it might have been AK suggested this one during fundies - clip a lit backup light to your front crotch D-ring and use that as a reference for your centre point to practise helicopter turns. Looks a bit dodgy in profile but the method works! Also useful as a gauge for how far you are off the bottom, keeping the light just out of the silt but not too far away, and if you're that close to silt it really shows up any stray hand waves or downward fin kicks, and notices badly if your trim is off or (my big sin recently) your knees are dropping.

Midwater ascent drills seem to be the other killer for me and my buddies and one of the more punishing things for buoyancy and finning. Keeping position as a team and keeping steady and nicely trimmed whilst ascending. Needless to say we're nowhere near there yet!
