The Handle is made out of Aluminium so dont worry about the rust

. Its pretty easy to drill through and should not have any problems providing you wash it with fresh water after a dive. Its easy enough to put a dab of paint on it after you drill it. I painted one of mine black to comply with rule no.7 in DIR.
