It will get better over time
I also started out with big 1" boltsnaps everywhere.
over time I sized them down because the big boltsnaps were a major rule# 6 violation
, and now I have 3/8 everywhere except stages and scooter.
And I use gloves from 5mm 5-finger to 7mm 3-finger mitts to dry gloves. all works just as well with some practice.
